Method and limitations

Plastic waste collected — informal

This combines household self-haul to dumpsites, PRF collections and Mission Pacific recovery outside municipal collection.

How it is produced

Household self-haul is modelled from the 2017 FBOS Census. PRF tonnage is reported directly by material. Mission Pacific uses a published annual average. CPR location figures come from PRF's mapping study but are not added to the overall total where double counting is possible.

Read with care

The origin and destination of PRF, Mission Pacific and CPR material are not fully traced, creating overlap risk. Direct annual declarations should replace averages and assumptions.
