This is an estimate of how much plastic waste Fiji produces each year.

How it is produced

Two Fiji waste studies provide per-person anchor values for 2021 and 2024. Their annual growth rate is applied across the inventory years, multiplied by World Bank population, and then by an 11.47% plastic share. Published composition shares split the result by plastic type and sector.

Read with care

Two studies cannot describe every year's change. National averages also hide urban, rural and sector differences. A new standardised Fiji waste audit would materially improve this series.
